A new blog design for what is really a new blog: in a matter of only a few hours we will be on our way, on our much anticipated trip. We have spent the last few days making sure that Nic is settled in to the flat, and introducing her to Merry. We are terribly unprepared: half packed, half unpacked. We have not had our injections for Mexico, but we do have a large selection of DVDs and books to see us through. New York is the first stop, and we have only five days to exhaust the pleasures of that particular city. This is our second visit to New York, and so far we have very little planned. Mike wants to try and meet up with the author of the story of which he is now a living word. It seems a long time since our last visit.
Before we get there though, we have to brave the plane: the only method of transport that can be credited with sucking the excitement out of hurtling across an ocean in half a day.
