Well, so much for the promise of regular blog updates :) The lack of internet connection, and just doing new stuff or meeting people all the time... Anyway, I'm here now :) And mostly to tell you about the Washington part of the trip, really. We've been staying with our friend DC Mike for the past few days, which has been absolutely excellent :) It is pretty amazing finally hanging out with someone you've been talking to purely on the interweb for so long... Anyway, suffice to say that Mike is as sweet a guy as you could imagine in real life too :) He has been a great host, and we have had an amazing Christmas. When we sort out connecting our laptop to the internet I will post some of the pictures we have taken and stuff :) We also got to hang out with Todd again, which was really cool.
The first stop on our trip was New York, which is just an amazing city. We exhausted ourselves for five days walking the length and breadth of Manhattan (the best bit of which was undoubtedly Central Park, which is perfect even on a windy, freezing day in December). We did lots of typical tourist stuff, like a SHOW on BROADWAY (although not a musical, thank god: the Caretaker, with a great cast of Agent Cooper, Captain Picard and some other guy), unexpected 'expeditions' into the Brooklyn part of the subway systems, the hunt for vegetarian food, etc. Mike supplied the comedy New York accent, of course :)
I have loads more to say, but I'll try and get the pictures sorted out first and tie it all in.
